On a 10,000 euro order you pay 2,200 euros less in VAT. Here is why
A German supplier offers you a batch of burs at a better price than your usual one. You do the sums on the product price and overlook the item that weighs most: VAT.
When you buy from a supplier in another European country and you are a VAT-registered professional, that supplier does not charge you VAT on the invoice. You record it in your books, but you do not pay it out.
In practice: on a 10,000 euro order you do not hand over 2,200 euros. It is not a discount on the product. It is that the money stays in your account instead of leaving and coming back months later.
If your practice buys 60,000 euros of materials a year, on domestic purchases you advance over 13,000 euros of VAT across the year. You get it back, but in the meantime you do not have it.
Anyone who has applied for finance on a new chair knows the difference between having and not having thirteen thousand euros in the account in the wrong month.
This is not a tax trick or something to be requested as an exception. It is the ordinary way purchases work between professionals in different European countries.
There is one condition, however, and it is where almost everyone stops. Your VAT number must appear in a European list called VIES, where suppliers in other countries can check it.
Many practices hold a perfectly valid VAT number but are not on that list, because you only get on it by asking. Those who are not on it are treated as private individuals and pay the seller country's VAT.
It is the costliest error nobody warns you about: you notice when the invoice arrives, and by then the order has been placed.
On Oralzon the check happens before you buy. The system verifies your VAT number against the European list and applies the correct treatment by itself, based on your country and the seller's.
If your position does not come back verified, the cart tells you before payment and shows how much more you are about to pay. It is not a warning buried in a menu: it appears when it matters.
The platform works across all 27 countries of the Union, and it was built around this rule from the start. Every order between verified professionals follows the treatment it is due.
In summary: if you buy from another European country and you are on the VIES list, you do not advance the VAT. On a 10,000 euro order that is 2,200 euros staying in your account, and the check is done once.
