Shipping dental products from the dashboard: label, pickup and tracking
For a dental supplier, the least visible part of selling online is also the one that weighs most on daily work: shipping. Working out the cost, preparing the label, arranging the pickup, answering the customer who asks where the parcel is.
On a well-built dental marketplace, much of this work is no longer yours. It is worth seeing what changes, step by step.
The first step happens before the order is even placed: the shipping cost. The customer sees it at checkout, calculated automatically from the weight of the products and the destination. That is why weight is one of the required columns in the catalogue: a correct weight means a correct cost, with no surprises for anyone.
The customer pays for shipping together with the products. You do not need to prepare quotes or add costs by hand.
The second step is the label. When the order arrives, you pack the parcel and the dashboard generates the courier label, with the recipient's details already filled in. No forms to fill in, no addresses to copy.
In the countries where the platform already has an agreement with a courier, such as Italy with BRT, you do not even need your own shipping contract: you use the platform's. Agreements in other countries are in progress.
The third step is tracking. As soon as the parcel leaves, the customer receives the tracking number and also sees it in their account. Questions about where the parcel is, which usually arrive by phone, drop considerably.
The last step is delivery, and it is linked to your payment. The customer's payment is held while the parcel travels and transferred to you once delivery is confirmed, which becomes automatic after 7 days in Italy and 15 days in the rest of the EU.
What remains with you is the part no system can do: packing well. For fragile or sterile products, it pays to use packaging that protects the original box, because a parcel that arrives damaged becomes a return.
If you want to see what an order ready to ship looks like, you can explore the vendor dashboard in a demo store, without signing up.
In short: the shipping cost is calculated automatically from weight and destination and paid by the customer, the dashboard generates the courier label, where the platform already has a courier agreement you do not need your own contract, the customer follows the parcel with tracking, and payment arrives once delivery is confirmed.
