Dental marketplace: a six-month trial period for suppliers
The most sensible question a dental supplier asks itself about a new sales channel, such as a dental marketplace, is also the simplest: will it work for my products? Nobody can answer that in advance, not even us. You can only try.
The problem with almost every channel is that the trial costs money before it gives answers. A trade fair is paid for before you know whether it will bring customers. A website is built before you know whether anyone will visit it. An agent is signed before you know whether the area will pay off.
On Oralzon we wanted to reverse that order. The first 180 days come with no subscription fee: no fixed costs, no activation fees. During the trial you only pay the 7% commission on what you sell. If you sell nothing, you pay nothing.
Six months is enough to get real answers, as long as you use them well. The first month is for preparation: uploading the catalogue, even straight from your Excel price list, completing product pages with photos and descriptions, and connecting the account where you will receive payments.
In the following months, it pays to watch three things. First: which products receive orders and which do not. They are not always the ones you sell most through your shop or your agents, and the difference tells you a lot about who is finding you.
Second: where the orders come from. A region your agents do not cover, a foreign country where you had never sold before. These are signals a traditional channel cannot give you, because you are not there.
Third: how much time it really takes. Preparing an order, printing the label, handing the parcel to the courier. By the end of the trial you will know whether that time is paid back by sales.
In all honesty, it should also be said what the trial does not guarantee. Oralzon is in its launch phase, and the first orders may take time. Six months are not a promise of sales: they are the time to measure them without having invested anything.
At the end of the 180 days, the decision is yours. If the channel works, the annual plan costs 199 euros, plus the commission on sales. If it does not, you do not activate the plan and you have lost nothing but the time spent uploading your catalogue.
There is also a benefit you only appreciate afterwards: a tidy online catalogue, with complete product pages and good photos, is useful anyway, including for requests from your existing customers.
The quickest way to find out whether it is worth starting is to see how it works: you can explore the vendor dashboard in a demo store, without signing up, and decide afterwards.
In short: almost every sales channel costs money before it gives answers, on Oralzon the first 180 days come with no subscription fee and you only pay 7% on sales, the trial shows you which products sell, where orders come from and how much time it takes, and at the end you decide with real data whether to continue.
